While creating a unique ‘sound world’ is becoming increasingly important in commercial music, it can also help a library music album define itself and make it a go-to for clients. For Dreamy Sexy Cool, on the WotNot Music Library we wanted to do just this, and create a standout collection of dreamy electronic pop with effect-laden female vocals. The plan was simple, we wrote a list of ad- and promo-friendly phrases, which were sung by vocalist Elizabeth Gandolfo (and recorded by the excellent Dan Leavers!); these vocal phrases were given to the composers as a starting basis for their tracks. The result was an album of ten distinctive tracks with catchy vocal hooks and cuts… followed by volume 2 in 2017.
