The focus of my label, WotNot Music, is on how people experience music and creativity. In this instance, we wanted to encourage the listener to take a step away from the screens that demand our constant attention and govern our lives, and experience the music deeply, as well as being able to reflect inwardly. The title was in fact inspired by a Jehst line from the track Communication with Lewis Parker:

I wanna feel the sea breeze and see trees. Not G-3s and PCs; we live our lives between screens.

Working with producer Manni Dee, we put together a compilation of ambient music from a range of musicians, both those who regularly write ambient, experimental and noise music, and those who tend to look elsewhere.

We launched the release with an ambient music club night, replacing standing space with chairs and floor cushions, encouraging attendees to sit or lie down, reflect, and immerse themselves in the performances. With live performances from a selection of featured artists accompanied by a light-based installation by art production team WeAreYes, the night was a great success, and certainly an interesting experiment in live electronic music formats.
